A melodic Hard Rock band with female vocals founded in December 1988 by guitarist Frank Bulling and bassist Andy Keller. Later draftees were American singer Kurt Harley and drummer Michael Dorsch. Harley's previous credits included having his songs used by PINK CREAM 69, OVERDOSE KIDS and PUSSY. The PINK CREAM 69 connection was solidified in 1989 as Dennis Ward gained production credits on the debut SCARLET ROSE demo. After a second set of demos that year Edgar Schmidt took over the drum position.

The following year the group underwent a facelift, inducting female singer Steffi Brill and keyboard player Coco Augustin and with this revised line up cut a third batch of demos in February of 1991. SCARLET ROSE then proceeded to tour Europe extensively supporting the likes of ROKO, MAMA'S BOYS, BONFIRE and THUNDERHEAD among others. Yet more demos still saw the group struggling to attain a record deal, although they were winning numerous accolades in the press. By 1994 they were still on the road, acting as openers to MOTHER'S FINEST and even KOOL & THE GANG! Finally SCARLET ROSE set to work on a debut album, 'Prime', in November. Released in April of 1995 'Prime' reaped favourable press coverage, particularly in Japan. Much of the next two years would be involved with promoting the record and the first signs of new music would be the 1997 single 'The Sun In Your Eyes', preceding the 1998 album 'Faces'.

Edgar Schmidt joined DOMAIN in 2001 and SCARLET ROSE pulled in Rudi Ille as replacement. However, in January of 2002 both Steffi Brill and Rudi Ille exited, the former singer soon getting back on the road with a new band suitably entitled JUST BRILL. Persevering, SCARLET ROSE enrolled Esther as their third lead vocalist.

During May of 2003 Andy Keller would also be found contributing bass to MIDNITE CLUB, the new band project of erstwhile MIDNIGHTSNACK and MR. HATE guitarist Stephen Seger.
