Nigel Bagge is a well-journeyed guitarist from the UK, and together with a band of seasoned professionals presents this collection of Bluesy, Rootsy songs - featuring 8 self penned tracks featuring Nigel's smoky vocals and fiery but sensitive guitar - acoustic, electric and slide.
"Started out playing music by the Shadows (yes – it was that many years ago!), then the John Mayall Bluesbreakers album with Eric Clapton changed everything, along with Fleetwood Mac, Cream, Jimi Hendrix, Free, Rory Gallagher. Later years saw BB King, Jeff Beck, Stevie Ray & Jimmie Vaughan, Albert King & Albert Collins exerting their influence, and then Ry Cooder, John Hiatt, Eric Bibb and Keb’ Mo’.
I began professionally in the 1970s with Geordie folk-rockers "Lamplight" (later "Cold Comfort"). Much slogging around the college and London pub scene (as it was) followed. The Punk explosion fairly quickly put an end to our fortunes, and I pursued a different career through the 1980s. However it’s in your soul, and I continued playing and doing the odd gig with some of my old buddies. Eventually "Highway 61" was formed – a good time Rhythm and Blues band. Redundancy from my other career led to music becoming a full-time occupation again. "Duck Soup" followed in 1991 – and is still on the menu at various venues today. I was with " Juice On The Loose" around that time, and then in 1993 I teamed up with Nicky Moore and we formed the "Blues Corporation".
In 1997 I was offered the job of front-man with "The Mighty 45s". That’s when I started singing for a living as well as playing the guitar. The 45s stopped working in their own right when backing Chicago blues diva "Angela Brown" became full-time, playing at Festivals and clubs throughout western Europe & Scandinavia until 2007.
Since then I’ve worked with PETER GREEN, CHRIS FARLOWE and MILLER ANDERSON as well as fronting my own band & duo, and playing with the DESPERATE DAN BAND, DUCK SOUP, GOODY-BAG BAND and anyone else who asks me!"
