(Progressive Technical Death Metal) Karnak - Dismemberment - 2010, MP3 (tracks), VBR, 192-320 kbps

2005 (XII year).
Marco & Alessandro leave the band for personal duties. Again, this change of line-up forbids the promotion of "Laboratorium", which remains for the moment set aside, also taking into consideration the severe criticism made by Code666, which labelled us as not original (everything can be said but not that!), together with other four songs already composed to finalize the original concept. We re-hire Francesco Ponga, former member of the band, and start to composed new piece returning to the extreme style of "Perverted". In the end of the year we also needed to change again the rehearsals room, really a pleague for us.
2004.
As for an advice from the famous italian label Code666 we decided to improve dramaticaly the voice approach. Alessandro Seravalle from Garden Wall joins us and the result is totally incredible. With the help of Romolo Del Franco on the bass, we recorded "Laboratorium", as the title says itself... true experiments in music. Later in the year, Ivan returns with us... Pipiculo rules!!
2003.
Matteo and Roberto went out of the band for both musical and personal reasons. Livio Tomasin joined us on the bass and Gabriele started to take the role of vocalist for the growl voices. Beside him we decided to ask the help of Sandro Farina, a both demented and talented singer. We also contacted the famous italian label Code666. They asked us to work more on the voices, to match the insanity of the music, so we worked a lot on 7 new pieces. We are still finishing to record them, to have the best chance for a decent musical contract. Then the 12th Planet closed, so at the moment we are without a record label.
2002.
With Marco again with us we started to compose some new material to make a new album. At the end of the year we recorded "Tutti i Colori del Buio", seven tracks inspired from the Italian horror movies of the seventies. Again the live activity was really really diluted in time.
2001.
Really a static year for us. A lot of review for Melodies Of Sperm Composed are still coming (no monetary rewards, but...), but the live activity had a serious slowdown, due to problems to find musicians for the band. Diego decided to leave, and so did Seby. To replace them we found Matteo Weber for the vocals, and Marco finally decided to return with us.
2000.
Finally, Melodies Of Sperm Composed reached the market. We got really a lot of positive reviews that compared our work to the ones of Cynic, Death and Atheist. We are still really both satisfied and afraid of that! Those are our all-times favourites bands, with incredible musicians. It's a hard responisibility!!! For a little period Andrea Varnier played with as a second guitar, and Diego Biloslavo on keyboards.
1999.
Marco took a break from the band. Then we started having a lot of problems with the rehearsing rooms. A lot of friend really helped us out with that and we still have to thank them. We also hired a second guitar, Raoul Brumat, ex-Censura. With his help we self-produced 150 promotional copies of "Melodies...". With one of that we got in touch with the Twelveth Planet Record, that made us sign our first serious discographic contract.
1998.
Really a revolutionary year. Francesco and Ivan left the band for different musical ideas and personal problems. To replace them, we decided to include 3 new members: Seby DiMartino as vocalist, Roberto Sarcina at the bass and Marco Colella at the keyboards. Marco will become the third "ufficial Karnak". With this new line-up we lost all constraints for musical direction and technical skills. In few months we wrote the nine pieces of "Melodies Of Sperm Composed", our first official album, that is still bringing us a lot (?) of fame and success.
1997.
The name of the band finally turned to the present Karnak, considering also that there was another band named Obscenity that was having a pretty good success at that time. We also composed our first full-lenght album, title "Perverted", in which keyboards first appeared, played by Gabriele. The songs were complicated as possible, without losing the focus of violence and extremity. The album was recorded at Crainal Studios, Seby's recording studio. With this product we could contact a label in the south of Italy, but it failed during the phases of publishing the album.
1996.
Emiliano "Oronzo" Tortul substituted Maurizio as the bass player. With him, a really talented musician, we recorded the demotape "Beyond", 4 tracks; some of those will be then re-arranged and re-recorded for our first full-lenght album "Perverted". Also in this period we had an intense live activity and the style of the music began to become more technical and intricated. At the end of the year, unfortunately, Emiliano decided to enter in the police and left the band. After him we hired Ivan "Pipiculo" Rassu, a Steve DiGiorgio clone. In that year, further, thanks to contacts found in the near Slovenia, we opened a concert for the German band Pyogenesis. The response from the people was incredible. We still remember that date in Kranj (near Lubjiana).
1995.
This was our "brutality" year. The main bands from the worldwide scene were Deicide, Suffocation and Cannibal Corpse. We changed our moniker into Obscenity and played even more live. In that year we recorded the demo "Pierced Flesh", and a lot of people still remind it. Our main elements were the extreme music, the subsonic voice and satanic themes in the lyrics. At the bass, Maurizio "McGyver" Menon who will remain a friend of the band.
1994.
In this year we really played a lot in our area. We were experimenting a lot with musical styles at that time, trying to decide the direction to take, so every concert we presented different songs with different moods. In that period we recorded our first demo, titled "Eternal", with the help of Andrea Rigonat, now guitarist in the band of Elisa (a famous singer from Monfalcone). We started our "disgrace" with having a regular bass player, when Gusto decided to leave the band.
1993.
The beginning of the adventure by the name of Subtraction. The idea came from the drummer Stefano Rumich, who put together some friends and began to write some song with the intention to mix the classic death metal moods with progressive elements, taking inspiration from bands such as Death, Pestilence and Atheist, combining it all with something from Voivod. Then, Gabriele Pala, lead guitarist, joined the band. With Stefano he will remain the only original member of the band. In this year also the first date, in Fogliano (Gorizia - Italy) with other local bands like Censura (whose singer was Seby DiMartino, who will become Karnak vocalist). At the voice and rhythm guitar there was Francesco Ponga, at the bass Mauro "Gusto" Meneguzzi.

ITA) DEATH Karnak was born in 1993, mixing classical atmospheres of death metal, blended together with progressive components, with influences coming from forerunners like Pestilence, Death, Atheist and Voivoid. As time passed, Karnak became more and more intense, and were more and more influenced by heavier stuff like Deicide, Cannibal Corpse and Suffucation. The band then recorded their debut "Perverted"., which was then followed by the 2000 album "Melodies of Sperm Composed", recorded at Gabriele Ravaglia's Fear Studio and promoted worlwide by 12th Planet. Unfortunately 12th Planet dissolved and a passage of inactivity followed. The band still growing and now fusing the two brutal and technical influence of yore to bring us something more akin to Meshuggah, with the brutality of Nile, Suffucation and Morbid Angel and the dynamism of Pestilence. In 2010, following stage appearances with Decapitated and Pyogenesis in their time, the band release their third opus "Dismemberment". For fans of., Meshuggah, Nile, Suffocation, Morbid Angel
